Family Archive License

This application, Docker image, build output, documentation, scripts, and related files are proprietary software. They are not open source and are not licensed for redistribution, resale, sublicensing, copying to unrelated servers, or use outside an authorized customer installation.

Authorized use

An authorized customer may use one deployed copy of the software for the private family history site, household, or domain that BYAJ VENTURES LLC configured or approved. You may use it to:

• run the licensed family history website;
• store and manage that family’s private photos, documents, stories, recipes, people, and backups;
• perform normal backup, restore, maintenance, and security operations for that site;
• migrate the site to a replacement server or domain with BYAJ VENTURES LLC’s approval or assistance.

Restrictions

Unless BYAJ VENTURES LLC gives written permission, you may not:

• copy, redistribute, publish, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or transfer the software to another person, family, business, domain, or server;
• remove, bypass, disable, or obscure license checks, domain checks, customer identifiers, or deployment protections;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the software except as strictly necessary for ordinary backup, restore, and server maintenance of the authorized installation;
• create derivative products, competing hosted services, or reusable deployment packages from this software;
• use the software on any public domain other than the licensed domain or a BYAJ VENTURES LLC-approved replacement.

Self-hosting & perpetual use

The license explicitly permits installation on user-controlled infrastructure (VPS, home server, etc.), is perpetual for the purchased version, and does not depend on BYAJ VENTURES LLC services to function. Your system remains fully operational and independent even if BYAJ VENTURES LLC is no longer available.

Your content

Family photos, documents, stories, recipes, names, dates, and other customer-entered content remain your content. This license covers the software and deployment package, not ownership of your family archive content.

No warranty

The software is provided as configured for the authorized installation. Except where separately agreed in writing, BYAJ VENTURES LLC provides the software without warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Domain or ownership changes

If the licensed domain, server, or ownership changes legitimately, contact BYAJ VENTURES LLC at support@privatefamilyarchive.com for a replacement image, updated license metadata, or migration assistance. Do not bypass the license or domain controls yourself.
